This bouzouki & brass combo of the well-known Amsterdam Klezmer Band and bouzouki player Orhan Osman promises to be exciting and groovy. Turkey Now brought these musicians together because the rousing and at the same time melancholy sound of the Amsterdam Klezmer Band is closely related to rebetika, or the urban blues of Osman. Taking this metropolitan music from Athens and Thessaloniki, which originated in Izmir, as his starting point the Turkish-Greek-German bouzouki virtuoso has tended more and more towards world jazz, incorporating the sounds of funk, klezmer and even Indian music. Combined with the groovy sounds of the Amsterdam Klezmer Band this results in powerful, exciting musical fireworks crackling with energy.
